*Glass Extension - London, UK
Completed 2009

Interior refurbishment and ground floor extension to an extension mews terrace house in Tufnell Park. There were several constraints on the site due to planning restrictions and the size of the garden which limited the height and width of any extension from the main facade of the existing building.

The extension was designed to create a positive leftover space through its tapering geometry while the strategy of fully glazing the north facing wall allows for daylight penetration to be maximised while the use of semi-reflective films reduce the visual impact of the extension. The use of Kerto timber columns as framing elements sets up a rhythm within the interior space which is carried through into the lighting design.
